Worst service. Waited 30 minutes just to order. I had to track the waitress down to order because she was busy cleaning tables and forgot about us. Burgers were extremely dry. The food was cold. Seemed like it'd been sitting out awhile before it came to us.

I'm just reviewing the brunch menu and sitting outside, and for the record, I love it here! You get what you pay for, and I don't know why would stray from the brunch menu or just get a burger. It's a bar. I really have no complaints, I've had eggs benedict (delicious) and the house burger (also great). Perfectly cooked, perfectly portioned. Again, hard to complain. Going there when it's brunch you got to take advantage of the cheap drink menu too. $2.50 mimosa's are hard to beat. Anywhere else and you are paying $4, easy. Overall, I really like this place, it's a predictable menu, nice patio, and cheap drink/food menu for brunch. It's turned into my go to when it's Sunday with nothing to do...might as well go! Though I can't speak for it during dinner hours, I would definitely suggest going there for brunch. It's too good to pass up!

Weird spot with layout and servers. Our server kept forgetting everything including my hollandaise on my eggs bennedict. Her family was eating there and she kept sneaking bites. Her niece was singing in the top of her lungs not making it cute past the first 5 minutes. What seemed to be the owner was not aware of whats going on. The nachos were weak served with sour salsa, yuck. My Bf's frittata was good and so were the 2 dollar bloody mary's. There are a lot of things this place needs to change to become a usual rotation for brunch, a whole lot!

Ugh, I so wanted to love this place because of the ambiance and the live acoustic bands but I just didn't. I will say though, I will try it again for brunch due to the mimosa and bloody Mary prices and the menu. I ordered the Asian chicken salad and was intrigued with the idea of fettuccine noodles on it as I thought maybe they were on to something. .. but. No. .. it sucked. It was thin spaghetti noodles, fully cooked, as in soggy and slapped plain-no seasoning-on a bed of Romain. Chicken was tender but no seasoning. Dressing seemed to be thousand island mixed with honey mustard. My friend ordered the jalapeño cheeseburger. It was a little bland as far as flavor, but it was cooked okay, 5 big onion rings. Also ordered chips and salsa. Salsa was really good and spicy, chips were awful and almost stale-like from a bag. Beers were good, they were IPA drafts. Staff was very slow and our waitress seemed timid. No water was offered and there were no napkins or silverware, I had to ask. Place was cute and like I said, I'll try again for brunch.

So much potential, but is very sub par. We had garlic burgers and an appetizer of humus and veggies. Garlic burgers sucked and the apps came out with my meal..? I wish it was better because it's right by my house.
(2)Nick W.
Solid three stars. Appetizers were cold (should have been hot,) stuffed burger was amazing, no draft beer yet. Bottom line: Stay with the main course dining and give them another month to get their act together and get draft beer and properly heat appetizers.

Never, ever again. I wasn't feeling well today after working 72 hours in 5 days, needing protein and wanting to relax and be taken care of. We walked in to a surly older guy who never could put a smile on his face the entire time. He tried to seat us at a table with a dead fly and two other flies hovering over it, eating the dead fly. I had to say, "I think we'll sit over here, there is a dead fly and two other flies on that table." The waitress, Bobbi, was so slow that one of the patrons on the patio got up and left, having waited for their drinks for 20 minutes. The food was decent, I will give them that. I ordered one of their 99cent draft beers and waited 20 minutes for that. When Bobbi brought it she muttered, "I guess the bartender didn't have time to serve it, so I will." (At that time there were two servers with a total of 2 tables each). I took a swig of the beer and nearly vomited. It tasted like a dead soldier someone left in the fridge, top open, for several days, to finally be consumed by a desperate frat boy. I took it over to the surly non-smiler, who did replace it with a decent IPA, he tried to tell me, "The keg is just not cold yet." Um no, the beer was ice cold, there was no carbonation in it. Totally flat. Soon after Bobbi came over and asked how everything was going, I said, "Other than the flat beer, fine." She reached to grab my plate and I put my hands on it (because I wasn't finished!), and said, "I'd like to eat my fruit." At which time Bobbi replied, "Boy, you're just not a very happy person today, are you?" Um no, I'm not a very happy person when I'm seated at a table with dead flies, wait 20 minutes for a flat beer, and you can't bother to ask if I'm finished eating before you remove my plate. I told her she didn't know a thing about me or why I had come there, that I love tipping good service, but wasn't very impressed with today's visit. She stated, "Well, all these people are regulars, they know better." (there we go with the assumptions, I have been there on NUMEROUS occasions, have enjoyed the food and service, and left a nice big tip for it, but I guess since Bobbi doesn't know me I must not be a "regular" and not worth taking care of). Thanks for making me feel lower than the scum off the bottom of your shoes, Millcreek Bar and Grill. I guess I have to go there every day to be considered a 'regular' and treated well. After yelling at me and confronting me in front of my daughter I told Bobbi I was really hedging on any kind of tip, and she said, "I guess if you can walk out of here in good conscience after I served you so well." Yes Bobbi, I can. And no Bobbi, you did not treat me so well. I also noted that big surly dude seated an older couple, apparently some "regulars" at the same table where the flies had been, and when the flies started buzzing around them he made sure to note their presence and offer to reseat them. Screw you Millcreek Bar and Grill. We have a few other restaurants who DO know our faces, who DON'T wait 20 minutes to bring a drink, DON'T seat us at a table with a dead fly on top, and DON'T challenge me about what kind of mood I'm in when I ask for you not to clear my plate because I'm still eating. Never again.

What a great find! A friend recommended the place for good burgers so we thought we'd give it a try. The Positives: My boyfriend tried the cocktail special of the day--Whiskey Sour and it was delish-refreshing and not overpowering. Our server, Brooklyn, was very candid about answering our questions about the food when we asked for suggestions. Per her suggestion, my boyfriend went with the stuffed burger (stuffed with mushrooms and swiss cheese), and he said it was phenomenal. The burger was perfectly cooked medium rare and the cheese oozed out of the center. He was a huge fan of his meal. I got the Vegan Burger (Gluten Free) and it was quite possibly one of the best I have tasted. You can tell it's made from scratch in-house by how the burger falls apart as you eat it (it's clearer not a frozen patty). I could taste all the flavorful veggies used to create the burger, but it wasn't overwhelming, and it was completely filling and scrumptious. It was served on a fresh soft bun (gluten free option available as well for those that are interested) that just went perfectly with the burger. Now onto the fries...SO YUMMY. I am a huge fan of crispy fries and these were delectable beer-battered fries. By far some of the best fries I have had since I moved to UT. As a former server, I appreciate great service, and Brooklyn knocked it out of the park. She was friendly and informed us of the specials as soon as she sat us, she checked on us periodically to make sure everything was okay and when we finished our meals she asked us about dessert. Neither of us had room to eat any but she sold us on her fave dessert so we took it home for later. Good service is rare these days, and I would totally return to this place knowing how great the service was. The lemon cake Brooklyn suggested, which I ate at home later on, was divine! Light and fluffy, the icing wasn't overpowering and the fresh whipped cream on the side was yummy. I totally appreciated the way they plated it in the to-go box as if it were being served on a plate (raspberry drizzle along the bottom and the cake placed on top with a few dollops of whipped cream and fresh blueberries on the side. The Negatives: The entrance was awkward and small and the host was on the phone with a customer discussing private reservations so it took a while for us to be helped. The bathrooms were a single occupant style..not really ideal for how big the place was. I would hate to come back on a busy night and wait forever to go to the bathroom. However, it was very clean and well maintained, so they get points for that since I am huge stickler about public bathrooms at restaurants. It was strange to have the silverware in a metal tin on the table with napkins. Makes me wonder how often they are cleaned out. I am too OCD about my silverware, so it skeeved me a little, but the silverware was clean, so it wasn't too bad. That's it. And the negatives are not enough to keep me from going back. The positives by far outweigh the negatives. WE WILL BE BACK FOR SURE!!

Had a groupon and glad I did. Even our server apologized at the end of the meal. This place has great potential, but just isn't up to par yet. Garlic burger was rare and so juicy the bun was completely soggy when it arrived at the table. Fries were great. Husband said his salmon was good, but the presentation wasn't overly exciting (does it need to be at a bar & grill?). Dessert took forever and the ice cream had mostly melted, server apologized and didn't charge us for it. Overall, I hope these problems can be worked out and that I can go back in 6 months and enjoy a nice local bar & grill.

Amazing food and awesome atmosphere. I've been here 4 times and 3 out of the 4, was in a party of 15-20 people. The servers were good and I was surprised at how quick our food came out. I had my 14 month old son there and let our server, Stephanie know that I would need to leave early. She cashed me out early without me having to ask for the check. I was super impressed. Only reason for 4 stars and not 5, is that my water didn't get refilled once.

Got a groupon to this place, just thinking I should try somewhere new. I have to make the note now that these guys have only been open a little over a month. And they are definitely still just getting all the kinks worked out. My first mistake was I coming on New Year 's Eve. It wasn't busy at all when we showed up. I had reviewed the menu ahead of time and kind of had an idea what I wanted. But that was in vain because they had a set menu for the night. The waitress was sweet and very nice but got our order wrong from the start. We received the wrong dressings on the salads we ordered. And they the steaks we ordered came out under done. These are all things that can be fixed by sending them back. I think when I came here I was thinking it would be more a corner bar feel. And I they are going for a more upscale pub clientele. Which is fine but to get this crowed they better work on the food more. And they need to get those draft beers in ASAP. I will come back and try it again. Hopefully they will have worked those kinks out.

I heard the food was good. The portions are very large and alright, nothing spectacular. The ambience was not good and there were flies buzzing around. I probably won't go back.

Only a first time lunch visit...but our group felt good about the food. Burgers and sandwiches got the best reviews...although I personally would like a little more garlic on the Garlic Burger. We didn't challenge the bartender...but the beers and wines were just fine. The lunch crowd was light on the Friday we visited...the service was fine.

After having several great experiences here, my recent trip may be my last. The service was terrible, the drinks were wrong, the food was barely edible and the turkey burger was mostly raw. Good luck to this place, they need it.
(1)Emily G.
This place has potential, as East Millcreek could use another good restaurant. The ambiance is better than expected given the outside appearance. The food is what you'd expect for upscale pub fare. Yet, the service leaves much to be desired. We figured--after reading the other reviews--this was just a new restaurant getting the kinks out, but realized the problem is bigger than this after our first visit. The hostess was aloof. Those servers who were working hard seemed annoyed and the remaining servers appeared to spend more time complaining about their work environment than actually working. My meal arrived promptly, but it took another 5 minutes to get someone's attention for silverware and a napkin. When a electrical circuit blew, shutting down the computer system, there was no one to take the lead, highlighting the clear absence of any leadership or management. Whoever owns this place would do well to be present, hire and retain staff interested in being there. Otherwise, I anticipate that the place will close due to acceptable food with sub-par service.

Driving by MG&B over the last few days I've noticed that there haven't been any vehicles in the parking lot and that the open sign has not been on. We drove in and found on the front door a notice indicating that they have received a ten day suspension of their liquor license from the Utah DABC. Ten days means that it wasn't just something minor. Their license is suspended from June 1 to June 11. I am wondering if they just decided to close while their license is suspended or if they are going to be closed permanently. I would love to see either Mike take it back over or someone who knows how to run a restaurant take it over. It could have been great. This restaurant is easy walking even with a bad hip. I really want it to succeed but I fear it is gone.
(2)Bryan M.
The employees are hung over and the food is terrible. Showed up one time and there was no chefs, so the waitress and the manager had to make food. Another time I had a bland steak and potatoes and I couldn't eat anymore after a few bites... I am amazed they're still in business.
(1)Kari M.
Soooo slow! Wait staff is very nice but we waited for an hour for food and there were only 2 other tables waiting and a guy at the bar. Only went because it's close. Never again...30 minutes later never mind. Changed from 2 to 1 star. Food is edible bare minimum. Stuffed chicken looks microwaved and the nachos were better at a movie theater. Added pork and there are literally 4 strands. Go 1 exit further and go to Fiddler's Elbow!

Our first visit to Millcreek Grill and Bar was about a month after they opened and there were definitely some issues. We've gone a couple more times and those issues have been addressed. The "weird layout" of the place that gets mentioned in several reviews has been fixed. There is now a nice flow to the place and everything seems to work will, including the live entertainment/stage area. The servers are much improved and are now among the most competent and friendly you'll find. The food... yes the food... it has imvproved dramatically, even though it was already above average from the start. They have typical bar food, but they also have nice entrees, if you're in the mood for something a bit more fancy and/or healthy. Our most recent visit was on a Saturday night and the place was hopping. The live band was excellent. The food was flawless. The service was great. The atmosphere was very cool and everyone seemed to be having a great time. I can't ask for much more than that in a neighborhood grill and bar!

Wanted to try this place tonight but they closed the kitchen at 10:15. Look at the hours of operation. It says they are open until 11:00. I have never heard of turing away customers 45 minutes before closing. Got the feeling they just don't care. I would be surprised if they are open in six months.

Lunch. I had a garlic burger, she had a salad. I drank water, she drank tea. The burger was exceptional. Well formed patty, juicy, cooked to perfection. Fries were processed and crunchy but good. She had no complaints about her salad. She's local and has been there several times. They're recently opened. She had met the owner on multiple occasions, he didn't recognize her. He was gracious and sincere. Or waiter was very good but was trying way too hard. I was annoyed and it didn't take long before I went out of my way to avoid eye contact. Zeal never is a good thing, especially when someone is perfectly capable of asking for something and simply wants to be left alone to eat and converse. A mild sedative for the waiter would have made the experience that much nicer. There have been at least a dozen restaurants in this location since it was opened back in the '70's. Maybe more. The last time I've been there was over a decade ago. I think it was Italian and was really quite good. Success in the restaurant business is elusive. It would be nice if the present owner makes it. I'd go again if I lived close. But I don't so I won't. I just don't get to that neighborhood very much anymore. I grew up just down the street. Used to climb over the fence from Evergreen Jr. High to get to Wally's Donuts (now defunct). It's dated inside. Don't judge a book by its cover. That burger was one of the best I've had in a long time. When they can do the fundamentals that well, I'd imagine everything else on the menu is quality. They're trying to get live music in there on occasion. You should support them.
(3)Julie F.
I wasn't going to write a review yet, but I feel that if the management/owners care, they could have a great restaurant. I have been back for brunch 3 times. Each time I am hopeful that something will have changed. I like the location and the concept, but they need to act. The restaurant could use a good cleaning. (Ceiling fans, beams, table tops) The managers should help the wait staff, or at least hire a busboy. The tables are left with dishes and food long after the customers have left. It feels like they don't have enough wait staff, or they need help. Getting a cocktail takes forever! Meanwhile I've sat and watched the "manager" sitting at the bar on his phone, texting or whatever.. I just want to yell " get up and help! at the very least you can bus some tables, or clean something!!!" I hope the owner is open to listening to people, because they won't last long in that location...
(2)Taylor W.
If you're looking for a new breakfast spot, this is not the place to go. The menu is quite limited and apparently does not list all the ingredients in the dishes. We ordered the Italian veggie omelet and received something that looked and tasted like it had been cooked in an unwashed pan. The omelet had more olives than anything else which was a surprise since olives weren't supposed to be in it. The potatoes were absolutely disgusting. They tasted like they had not been washed before they were fried in dirty oil. They were chewy and left a disgusting taste in my mouth. The toast was burnt and yet somehow still cold and all they had was grape jelly. Needless to say, we won't be returning.
(1)Austin J.
Been to this spot twice. Terrible service both times. Servers don't want to be there and fighting with managers. Dirty glasses. Cheapest thing to order if you want a beer is 3. Won't be going back
(1)Patrick M.
Honestly it makes me sad to see all of these negative reviews.. I've loved every visit to Millcreek Grill and Bar. It's a pretty good location, the live music is always excellent, and the food is excellent (which is why we go to restaurants isn't it??) Yeah the staff is a little unorganized, so what. My food is ALWAYS amazing and I'm always entertained. What more do you need? I mean honestly, I would rather have a warm, delicious meal with some fabulous live entertainment and a few confused waitresses than have the most efficient, organized waitresses bring me out food that looks like it was scraped off the bottom of a Trax train.
(4)Rachael L.
Love that this place has local music every Friday. The food is great. They have had some bumps with service but all in all the atmosphere, food, and music is great!
(5)Jay M.
The food was ok. However service was a giant botched mess. The waitress ran the wrong bill. Then management couldn't figure out how to refund the credit card. BUT WHAT WAS TOTALLY CONFOUNDING WAS WHY A 17 YEAR OLD SERVER WOULD THEN FAKE PUNCH MY CROTCH? Seriously. A teen aged girl came up and fake punched my crotch. How is this acceptable? Needless to say we won't be going back.
(1)Heidi H.
This is the worst place we've ever attempted to dine. We thought, "Hey, let's try this place out since it's so close!" Not only did it take 10 minutes for ANYONE to give us menus, the place was empty. Totally empty (first red flag). Then, we ordered an app (very easy hummus platter with veggies), a club soda and a jack and coke. Another 10 minutes later, my Fresca came (which was not the club soda I ordered, but whatever). No jack and coke. We could SEE the bartender not doing anything, washing glasses. We waited another 5 minutes before we got up to leave. Not only did they not act apologetic, they charged me 3 dollars for my (wrong) drink. We had left, and went to La Fountain, which is super close, and it was only then that my husband disovered that he got the wrong change, and was shorted 5 dollars. He went back, and the bartender was being argumentative and overall horrible. NEVER. AGAIN. EVER! I have been in the restaurant industry for a decade, and this is probably the worst service i've seen, anywhere.
(1)Adam B.
Really dissapointing visit today. I used to be a regular and stopped in today after having moved to Denver. The place is struggling for sure (We were the only ones in the restaurant at 1 pm for lunch) and management seems to be a key reason for this. Which is too bad. We were some of their first customers when they originally opened and helped them get their menu in place (you can thank me for the battered french fries) We have had the fish and chips here before and when we inquired about them the response was "We do still have them but do you see them on this menu? Then, no you cant order them today." I was dumbfounded. Two stars are earned because their food is really good, but for how poor the service is and the obvious lack of management actually wanting customers, I won't be back.
(2)Joe R.
Came in on a Sunday evening really hoping this place would be a local favorite. Table was dirty when we sat down and cleaned with a rag that smelled like stale beer. We had dinner at 7:45 not realizing they closed at 9. We ate, ordered drinks, enjoyed ourselves, and were the only group in the bar. After dinner we ordered another round of drinks, which was a mistake... It took 15 minutes to get drinks even though we were the only table there. Shortly after we got our drinks they turned half the lights off as their signal to make us leave. It was 9:05, they had barely "officially" closed. Another 5 minutes later they literally turned off all the lights which at this point we left our half full drinks on the table and left. Had we received any notice prior to ordering the last round we would have gladly went somewhere else. Never will this place receive my recommendation.

Positives before negatives. Heard the food was amazing here......so right! Yummy food and the desert was really amazing. It was their cobbler that had squash in it that tasted like peaches, it was soo yummy and nice to eat something for desert that was half good for you. I took a picture of it and posted bec I thought their presentation of the desert was fun! Had fish and chips, fries were sooo good and crispy. My husband had their wedge salad and it had REAL, thick cuts of bacon on it. We were very happy with the food. Service was top notch. Our waitress was cute, friendly and very fast. All the employees that we saw were happy, smiley and seems to really like working there. Now onto the negatives. The layout of the place is not that great. Your greeted at the door with a half wall and a dinning table as a hostess desk? you can't see into the main dinning area from the door and that bugs me. Dark decor. They had live music, which is always great but his songs were sad (the guitar player/singer didn't know all the words to Amazing Grace and started making it up as he went). Needed more up beat music. We sat down at our table that was balanced with napkins at the base.....ugh! I HATE that! We moved tables because the low hanging light fixture above the table hit my husband's head when he lend in. They had these sliver "containers" on each table that held napkins, forks and knives. I didn't like that AT ALL, I thought to myself, "how many people have touch these!!" My husband beer glass had lipstick on it and my wine glass had water spots. We got there around 7:30 and it was pretty quite, not alot of people by 9:00, which I thought it should have been busy about that time with the bar an all. I want to say that we will be back due to the food being so good but the decor and layout is kindof depressing. We will see.......
(3)Rachel S.
This place needs to get it's shit together. We were served warm beer and we waited over 45 minutes for our food order. Only when we complained about the wait were we told that the kitchen was understaffed. It would've been nice to know that ahead of time. The place was obviously still under construction as they were sealing the bar counter top right next to where we were sitting. Couldn't you do that, say, BEFORE you open your restaurant or at least not during business hours?! I won't go back here again.

Yet another spot in search of an identity. This one is not sure if it wants to be a bar or an actual restaurant. It very clearly is set up fairly well as a bar, yet the space seems like they also want to try to tack on some restaurant pretensions, with various table arrangements, child booster seats and so on. The decor is totally bar. The smell is also totally bar and they are literally one stage away from being a bar and the space is there. The lighting is that wonderful bar dimness, again, awesome for a bar, but rubbish for a restaurant. The miniature menu again speaks mainly to a bar that also has food. They may as well go all the way over and just be a bar. The location is pretty prime for it, despite the odd arrangement of the parking lot. One of the real problems with this place attempting to act as a restaurant is that the food is not there. The nachos were quite bland, even with the additional pulled pork sprinkling on it. The chicken strip my kid had was nearly annihilated by over-exposure to fryer grease and was not on the higher end of things as they go. Fries appeared to have some sort of coating, possibly a breading. They were ok, on the level of bar food. The stuffed burger appeared to be a couple thin patties with the cheese and bacon on the inside, rather than something actually stuffed. Whatever the name, it needed a lot more filling...and flavor. Again, like the fries, it was an ok bar burger, but I drove by Five Guys to get there and the burger I had was definitely not up to that level. One of the best things in life to have is a good bar burger with a cold Sam Adams or two, which they did have, so judging again by bar food standards, this is right in the thick of things. As a restaurant, though...not so much. Service was pretty good, though a bit on the over-familiar side at times, but the kitchen seemed to be struggling. The nacho somehow took an excessive time to make it to the table, though the main entrees were closer to the mark. They also do have Coke Zero, though the mix is awful, again, stuff you'd expect in a bar. They also have this really cool free-for-all sort of impromptu acoustic jam on Sundays, starting around 2:00PM, which was very cool and contributed to us hanging in there for longer than normal. I get why they're tempted to be a restaurant, with the outdoor patios and so on, as well as the lucrative brunch-with-mimosas trade that they'd really love to be a part of, but unless they make the investment, both in interior decor and definitely in upgraded food quality, to support that, it seems likely they will gain little traction. I wouldn't be averse to going back...but only if I want the aforementioned bar burger and Sam Adams in an actual bar...or maybe to jam a little bit on Sundays.
(3)Anthony S.
They have 99 cent pbr draft before six (and apparently sometimes after six). I haven't really tried the food, but I of like seeing bands play here sometimes.
(4)Randall H.
The food here is wonderful and the people are pretty nice I get to go orders from here on a regular basis. But if you actually sit down and eat they can take a while that's why I didn't put 5 stars
